Indoor Model Flying
Meetings on Merseyside/Lancashire

The Venues
Due to Kirkby Sports Centre no longer being available there is a change of venue for the 2007/08 indoor model flying season. The two new venues are Sutton Leisure Centre and Burscough Sports Centre.
Sutton Leisure Centre is the larger venue and is 8 badminton courts in size, arranged so that the hall is square with a large area around all 4 sides for setting up models. The full address is Sutton Leisure Centre, Elton Head Road, Sutton, St. Helens, WA9 5AU. Elton Head Road is the B5204, which is off the A570 St. Helens Linkway.
Burscough Sports Centre is the width of 5 badminton courts long, the width being the length of a single court. The full address is Burscough Sports Centre, Bobby Langton Way, Off Mart Lane, Burscough, L40 0SD. This is near the Burscough Tesco Superstore and Burscough Bridge Station, just off the A59.
The Sessions
All sessions are on Saturday afternoons from 1.00pm until 4.00pm. The cost will be £7.50 per head per session (unfortunately we have had to increase the price compared to last year because the new venues are more expensive than the previous one). If, towards the end of the season, we have money in hand, a reduction or even a free session might be available for those who have attended all sessions.

Model types
For fixed wing
aircraft GWS type flexible propellers must be used, with a maximum of 2 cell
LiPo batteries. Brushed motors can be up to a maximum of 280 size. Brushless
motors cannot be bigger than a CD-ROM type.
Slow fly and scale models are especially welcome. Aerobatic type models are also
welcome but must be smaller than 'shock flyers', which are not permitted.
For rotary winged models, only Palm Z and the twin-rotor (e.g. Bell Twister)
type helicopters will be allowed.
Free flight models are also welcome.
The Rules
A peg board will be in use and must be adhered to. The peg must be returned to
the board as soon as your flight has finished.
Depending upon numbers, time slots might be allocated for the different types of
aircraft.
Proof of insurance (such as current BMFA membership) must be shown to the organiser on entry
before being allowed to fly.
The organiser and safety officer of the day will decide whether or not a model
is acceptable and their decision is final.
Check with the organiser to confirm the next meeting date if a session is missed since there may be amendments due to other venue users.
